The department

Welltec is actively recruiting several Field Engineers for Saudi Arabia to be based in Khobar as part of Welltec’s Global Operations function.


The position 

As a “Field Engineer”, you will be recognized as an experienced Field Engineer and you will have the opportunity to be involved in every part of our business in the field: From helping acquire essential data to planning long-term well development, you will organize, run, and report operations. Your work will center around Welltec’s Well Completion services and tools. 

You will have strong opportunities to learn and develop in this position and help others to learn and develop. Your training will be hands-on and rewarding as you will learn about the energy industry and become familiar with operating our specialized technology. You will be asked to learn a lot but in return you will be given responsibility and support to make your impact early, develop your skillset and start becoming an important part of our business. 

 

Key responsibilities

  • Participating in operations on wellsite and contributing to Welltec operations in a mentoring role in accordance with Welltec standard instructions, on location, land or offshore
  • Handling and maintaining equipment in the field and provide onsite labor whenever needed
    Installing equipment and dismanteling equipment (rigging up and rigging down)
  • Participating in planning of operations and assisting with estimating job requirements
  • Conducting training for FE2s, FE3s and FETs whenever relevant
  • Conducting performance evaluations of FE2s, FE3s and FETs whenever relevant
  • Leading on-site maintenance whereever relevant
  • Completing relevant paperwork associated with a job on a timely basis
  • Reporting near misses, accidents, incidents and mechanical failures to authorities (QHSE and/or SDM)
  • Schedueling and leading safety reviews
  • Perfoming post-job meetings with  clients when needed.
  • Communicate effectively with client and rig personel at wellsite
  • Acting as an ambassador for Welltec and Welltec technology with client, costumers and externals
  • Complying with Welltec  Safety and Quality Policy and standards.



The candidate

The ideal candidate has the following profile:

  • A relevant degree such as: Engineering, Geology/Geoscience, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
  • Exposure to Well Completions and Liner Hanger Operations.
  • Relevant offshore experience
  • Motivation to develop, train and deliver high quality service
  • Thrives with ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and on time in cooperation with others 
  • Basic knowledge of the oil and gas industry, Completion Equipment and Tools, and Liner Hanger Equipment and Tools
  • Experience working in a compliance-driven work environment
  • Awareness of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE)
  • Capable of managing equipment & tools
  • A competent troubleshooter with good root cause analysis skills
  • Demonstrated mentoring & training skills
  • Good English language skills
